18 Visions Artist - 18 Visions
Album - Obsession
Label - Trustkill
Reviewer - Robin Steeley
Formed in 1995, Orange County’s 18 Visions Obsession is their third release, following on the heels of their blistering debut Trustkill release “Until The Ink Runs Out”. The 11-track offering brings a change in sound and format for the band that still blends their original sound with a new style and more modern flavor. The album was produced by Mudrock (Godsmack, Avenged, Sevenfold) and shows a more mature side of the band.

Highlight tracks are the opening and title track “Obsession” as well as heavy hitting “Crushed” filled with breakdowns and catchy choruses as well as the slow burner “I should Tell You” and one of my favorites “Lost in A Dream” that really stands out with its arrangement and musicianship.

Overall, it’s an excellent follow up and I especially like the DVD that comes in the CD that details their trip into the studio to record the album, it’s a great way to see inside the recording process and into the band itself.
