Beyond Your Eyes is a hardcore band based out of Stockton, CA. Young musicians with a raw, hardcore, punk rock edge, B.Y.E. plays original music and tour their hometown central valley area as well as gracing the stage at many bay area music staples such as Berkeley’s infamous Gilman Street. Their major influences are AFI, Nerve Agents, Lab Rats, and Model American.
Their independent debut album, the EP entitled “Foreshadows of the Past” was recorded by T. LaRue at BlackCat Studios in Stockton (AFI, Tiger Army, etc.) and mastered by A. Ernst at Art of Ears in Hayward (Green Day, AFI, etc.).
The band is certainly full of energy, with a raw, basic hardcore sound. I bet they put on a helluva live show if their CD is any indication of the noisy chaos they create. For such young players they have a competent musicianship level and surprisingly enough in the punk/hardcore genre a diminutive female singer.
The band features a heavyweight producer which no doubt helped the top notch production.
Highlight songs to look out for are the more melodic “My Scars” and the angrier anthem “F**ck Your Scene”
