Gluecifer Artist - Gluecifer
Album - Automatic Thrill
Label - Steamhammer Records (2004)
Rating - ****
Reviewer - Marc Halverson
Hailing from Norway, Gluecifer are a solid European band that plays straight ahead rock n’ roll with a little bit of punk. Their latest release, “Automatic Thrill” will keep the listener rocking out with catchy riffs and sing-a-long choruses from beginning to end. Currently, Europe is being dominated by metal/hardcore bands, but Gluecifer is a nice contrast of good old rock n’ roll.

“Automatic Thrill” rocks the listener with the chorus of “Automatic thrill – Got me sucking on a pill.” “Car Full of Stash” has a catchy riff and is one of the strongest songs on the album. Other catchy tracks are “Here Come the Pigs,” “Freeride,” “Dr. Doktor,” and the album closes with the smooth rockin’ “The Good Times Used to Kill Me,” that instantly brings Cake to mind.

Gluecifer are definitely influenced by AC/DC, Judas Priest, Sex Pistols, and punk, but they their own formula of rock that will appeal to anyone who loves good old rock n’ roll! In a time where the scene seems to be dominated by metal/hardcore, it is refreshing to hear a band like Gluecifer.

Gluecifer are:
Biff Malibu – Vocals
Captain Poon – Guitar
Raldo Useless – Guitar
Stu Manx – Bass
Danny Young - Drums
