Holy shit, where did this come from? I put this one on the bottom of my stack, as it was just an EP, no flashy covers, no pictures, just a bio, and a 5 track cd. What I found when I popped it in was a very surprising new rock sound. These four guys from Chicago, Illinois started the band as a kind of joke, and played at the local VFW, Knights Of Columbus and bowling alley’s, but what they ended up doing is gathering a huge following, and serious attention from labels. (hint to local bands)
The band consists of, Tim Brennan on Vocals/guitar, Mark Palacz on guitar, AJ Brown on Bass/vocals, and Mark Sutor on Drums. They are all barely old enough to even get in the clubs they were playing in, but have an incredible work ethic that even keeps them out on the streets handing out there own flyers, It truly shows in the lyrics, and sound. I was instantly pulled into the cd as track 1 started with “ Our Escape”. All I can say about this is “fuckin A” and I just kept spinning around in my chair as I went through “Ok Corral”, “The Sentence” and “You Had It Coming”. Topping things off, I had to replay “Joanne’s Song” 3 times!
It’s hard to compare the music to anyone really, but if I had to, I would say they forge a bit of a resemblance to Yellow Card. I am pumped that this band is going to take on a full tour schedule in 2005, I will find them somewhere, I will be there, and I will report it here!
