Kittens for Christian Artist - Kittens for Christian
Album - Privilege Of Your Company
Label - Sony Music/Serjical Strike/Red Ink
Reviewer - Marc Halverson
Kittens for Christian are the first band to sign to Serj Tankian’s (System of a down) Serjical Strike imprint. However, you will not find any similarities to System of a down on “Privilege Of Your Company.” Instead, you are treated with a heavy dose of dance-punk. They definitely have their own unique sound but they do not really explore outside of their genre and dance-punk formula on this album.

“Under the covers” sets the mood for the record with a catchy groove and 80’s sounding (The Cure) chorus of “Under the covers.” Tracks like “Water” and “Quietest Moment” have deep but catchy bass lines that are easy to kick up your feet and just chill. The vibe throughout this entire album is very mellow but rockin’ to make you want to groove or drink it up!

The Cure, Bau Haus. Depeche Mode, and PIL, Kittens for Christian cannot really be labeled or put into any one category of music. To date, they do not sound like anything you hear on the radio or hear about. However, that separates them from what is out there and people are always looking for something original and different. Therefore, if you are looking to hear something outside the mainstream, check out Kittens for Christian.

Kittens for Christian are:
Hiram Fleites – Bass/Vocals
Neil Young – Guitar
Kevin Phillips - Drums
