Armored Saint - Lessons NOT Well Learned 1991-2001 Armored Saint - Lessons NOT Well Learned 1991-2001

Now here is a refreshing approach to a DVD! Armored Saint has put out this one in the form of a magazine, or more appropriately, a fanzine. Hosted by the inimitable Gahhhhn-zo, this DVD takes the viewer into a seldom-seen area of this bands workings, and is peppered with some great live footage, videos, promotional stunts, and even bloopers.

Armored Saint has been one of those bands that isn’t highly publicized but has a very strong and loyal following, For that reason this vid serves a dual purpose for such fans, as it is chock full of home video and off-the-cuff wit that you just don’t see at their shows, and provides an insight into the sometimes-mysterious aura of theirs. But a large portion of this DVD is dedicated to a virtual plethora of live show videos from shows around the world and covering all periods of their careers- long hair and short- which thankfully they had the foresight of including here. Many of these were filmed by fans, who eagerly submitted them for usage here. (There is also a road report from Portland, Oregon, and I was there!). There is also a photo gallery that covers most of the bands’ existence.

Special video features include the videos for Reign Of Fire and Last Train Home, plus the brand-spanking new one for Symbol Of Salvation. There is also a view into an AS soundcheck where we can see the masters at work And let’s not forget an added second disc- a cd of a live show from 1984, track listing as follows:

Envy
Glory Hunter
False Alarm
Can U Deliver
Lesson Well Learned
Madhouse

So if you happen to be an AS fan as I am, I would have to list this offering as “Well Worth Buying”, with an added “Mandatory”.
