Artist - AFI

AFI is one of those bands that have already received legendary cult status. A compilation at this stage in their career, while albeit a bit early, proudly showcases the bands body of work and best hits. It is a blend of AFI's Nitro years and includes something from each album released on the label, five full lengths and two EP's. It also features tracks that were previously released only on Vinyl and single.
I recommend all of their CD's and especially "Sing The Sorrow" but I have found a common element in most of their music that gives it an impressively listenable quality and a unique blend of sounds.
The Compilation has many highlights including a few unreleased songs such as "A Winters Tale" which was originally on the Days of the Phoenix EP which is extremely rare. Nitro did a smash up job of combining just the right combination of tracks making it an album certainly worth replaying. High energy, dynamic songs that showcase the bands impressive songwriting abilities, including tracks from the past and present.
The biggest highlights for me were "Lower it" from the vinyl version of Black Sails in the Sunset, and both "Rolling Balls" and "Who Said you could Touch Me?" which are from the vinyl version of Very Proud of Ya. This is the quintessential collection of some of the 15 greatest hits in AFI history although it has none of the bands latest work.
