Produced by Greg Fidelman, American Head Charges new release “The Feeding” shows a new maturity and aggressiveness to the bands sound. Based out of Minneapolis and dubbed an industrial metal band, AHC got its start when founding members met in a rehab facility more then nine years ago. Since then the band has gone on to grace such illustrious tours as Ozzfest in 2001. The Feeding is the follow up to the bands debut album “The War of Art” released in 2001 and produced by Rick Rubin.
Their latest effort is 11 tracks and a more then worthy follow up. It’s due out in stores in February of 2005 and should create a whole new generation of fans for the band. Highlights off the album are the hit single “Loyalty” which has currently received over 14,000 plays on the bands my space page at www.myspace.com. It is the first track and is a seething anthem that gets the album off to a furious start. Another standout track is “Cowards” which was released on the Ultimate Fighting Championship compilations Ultimate Beatdowns Vol. 1, Metal, which was released in August of 2004. My favorite off the release is probably the raunchy “Dirty” with its killer breakdowns and blistering tempo.
The band is self-described as “A constant battle between order and Chaos” and I find that an exceedingly accurate description of the music as it ranges between all out hellish metal and melodic mayhem. If you were ever an AHC fan pick this up, and if you are new to the band grab The Feeding when it comes out, it’s a worthy addition to your collection of heavy music.
