Born From Pain Artist - Born From Pain
Album - Sands of Time
Label - Metal Blade
Reviewer - Cheryl Ault
Born From Pain's CD, Sands of Time is nicely packaged, with a good black and white of the band, and you get to see their faces up close on the inside, which I liked. Full lyrics, too, which I think every CD should have.

This is a group of very technically tight musicians. The drum and guitar dance is mad...it reminded me of Metallica. Old school speed metal fans will possibly enjoy this band. On the other side of the coin..I found that the songs sounded too alike..and much of that was due to a one-note vocal performance. The vox were a ragin primal scream, which was cool, but never progressed beyond the one note at all. Also, too, the songs followed a set pattern too closely.

I hear a lot of room to grow here as a band....that potential thing. They could stand to get a little more creative with their melodies.I am a Metallica fan , and I love the contrasts in their cuts. This band needs a little more of that going on...more contrast. But overall its an excellent effort.
