Daysend Artist - Daysend
Album - Severance
Label - Metal Blade
Reviewer - Erik Byer
Power-freakin-house of sweet metal, wall-to-wall sound, huge, powerful, aggressive, melodic, and did I say sweet? Stuck on repeat, this album ruled my sound system for days. The brutal and fully intelligible lyrics and vocal style soared among the full sound of guitars, killer bass, and ruling drum beats. The occasional dreamy sounds powered by studio magic helped this overwhelmingly successful album make a serious staple in it’s listeners minds, from Rolling Stone magazine, to being recognized across the world for it’s beautifully innovative metal sound.

Daysend, a band out of Sydney, Australia, has come to us through Metal Blade and as made a serious statement. Members Aaron Bilbija on lead and rhythm guitars, Michael Kordek on rhythm guitars and backing vocals, beautiful Meredith Webster on bass and backing vocals, Simon Calabrese on lead and backing vocals, and Wayne Morris on drums, creates a masterpiece of talent and thus forming Daysend. Their gift to the world, Severance, is an 11-track mind blowing experience that will leave you wanting a heck of a lot more…just hit play again.

Severance delivers a handful of melodic guitar riffs, killer vocal harmonies that will hook you. From start to finish this album lays it in your lap! I could go on and on describing this album, but it won’t seem real until you actually listen to it yourself. Do an internet search for Daysend and you will see that everyone who has ever said anything about them is astonished by the sound this band has accomplished.

What are you waiting for? Go buy it!
