CIA Artist - CIA
Album - Attitude
Label - Screaming Ferret Wrecords/Escapi Music
Reviewer - Marc Halverson
Legendary drummer for Nuclear Assault Glenn Evans issues a re-mastered version of “Attitude,” which was recorded and released to a limited capacity in 1992. Glenn Evans showcases his full array of talents through playing drums, bass, guitar, and laying down the vocals as well. According to Glenn, “The CIA Attitude album was recorded in a period of my life when things were beginning to fall apart…my marriage, Nuclear Assault, and life in general…Everyone has those periods in their life at one time or another. I had a lot of emotions flowing through me and the easiest way to get them out was through music. I was proud of it then, and I’m proud of it now. It never really had a proper release, and this time around it will.” With that being said expect nine fast paced tracks of perfected drumming, heavy driven riffs with many solos, backed by solid bass and in your face vocals.

‘Ace in The Hole’ is a fast hitting track with a catchy chorus of “C-I-A” that brings an old school anthem you would expect to hear from “The Ramones.” The drumming is powerful and the guitar work is very precise. ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ opens with ballad type solo and then tears into straight up rock n’ roll song with thunderous drumming and very technical guitar work. The vocals and sound on this track and throughout the album are reminiscent of the early Megadeth days. Other strong tracks are ‘Can’t Find My Way’, ‘Right or Wrong’ (instantly brings early Metallica to mind), ‘Pull The Trigger’ and ‘No Need To Impress’ (one of the strongest songs). The album closes with ‘The Land of Gloom and Doom’ which is a heavy, thrash track that attacks the listener from beginning to end.

This sophomore re-mastered release of “Attitude” is a perfect example of how talented Glenn Evans really is. He is best known for his mastery of the drums but he is truly a well rounded musician. With a thrash-metal sound and punk type vocals, Glenn delivers a solid offering on “Attitude” and he should be proud of his work after waiting 12 years for a “proper release.”
