Artist - The Confederates
Album - Runnin’ From the Cops
Label - Piggyback Records (2004)

NW Punk rocks and The Confederates are right at the top of it all! This new release is a testament that pure punk rock still exists with just as much energy and raw power as when it all began. Any punk purist will be at home with this album.
Aside from the fact that this band brings in some head smashing punk, it was also recorded in Bend, OR at Piggyback Recording Studios. If these guys keep doing what they are doing Bend, OR may actually be put on the map for recordings and for the label.
Track 1, “Abducted,” starts out with the sounds of night with crickets in the background and then an simple eerie sound to represent an alien spaceship, and they kick into great wall of riffs and drums, and then the theme breaks out and there you go. Title track 3, “Runnin’ From The Cops,” Starts out with another intro picking on redneck cops...love it…and the some starts in and keeps pushin’ through shout choruses, and 2-minutes later ends with the sounds of pigs.
The sounds and lyrics of this band are definitely original, but they bring in a sort of familiar sense that makes this album, Runnin’ From The Cops, a lot of fun to listen to! Go out, see them, support them! Get your ass kicked by them!
