Dont Look Down Artist - Dont Look Down
Album - The Fear in Love
Label - Nitro Records (2004)
Reviewer - Erik Beyer
Can we say, stuck in my CD player? I couldn't take it out! This powerful mainstream sounding, heavy nu-metal/pop-punk album is an amazing step for modern rock. From the productions quality and songwriting, to the studio performances and flow of this CD you will be captivated. The first thing after you buy this CD is open up the video file on the CD and watch it all…learn about the band and find out why they are as killer sounding as this review tells you, then sit your self down, and listen to the CD. If you can't sit down after the first song because you want to get up and jump around, rocking out, that is normal. I had to pull my car over to get out and do that. Kidding…but that's how good it is!

Phat stuff! Band members Ryan Ogren, Jesse Rendell, Matt Emburgia, and Tom Parker have created an amazing beast here. Don't Look Down brings together a strong chemistry having grown up together, schooling many of the bands already out there with this powerhouse of a sound.

The flow of this album is strong and attractive. Track 1, “Right Where It Hurts,” is a very catchy song with tight harmonies and melodies while rocking you hard from start to finish. This intensity doesn't stop going into track 2, “To All Our Saviors,” with great guitar riffs and leading choruses. Track 3, “Trust Is A Word,” starts out with a guitar lick that grows into an intro that will sell you on this band, and runs straight into a song that holds you up against the wall and makes you hold on for dear life. I dig the guitar chord structure on this song! Sweet stuff! Jumping to track 5, “Last Breath,” starting with a peppy guitar sound, and pushes right into a very powerful and yet another catchy song. Track 10, “Define Your Desire,” brings in their strong pop-punk influences, in all elements from vocals to guitar and drum style, you fans will feel right at home. The album ends with track 11, “Visiting Hours Are Over,” a beautiful track of rhythmical guitars, bass, vocals, and eventually drums - a track with all of the melodic elements of a ballad, but the energy you would expect from Don't Look Down.

A newfound fan here! Their merchandise, available on their website is nice. I especially like the Track Jacket, large would be great, thanks.

These guys rock, and they deserve your attention, give it to them!
