Requiem Aeternam Artist - Requiem Aeternam
Album - Philosopher
Label - Self Released (2004)
Reviewer - Erik Beyer
This South American band has created a beautiful metal masterpiece with this album. Almost epic in its manner, as the songs of Philosopher are based on the works of specific philosophers, such as Guatama, Seneca, Rousseau, Heraclitus, Nietzsche, Kierkegaard, and Tzu. Self labeled as “Dialectical Metal, “Requiem Aeternam has earned the recognition of this album

A powerful sound coming from a three-piece band, with songwriting talent that will amaze you to the end. The vocals are fantastic and in-depth with very active guitar work and complimenting bass and drums. Jose Romero on vocals and guitar, Maciej Kupiszewski on bass, and Alex Hernandez on drums, deliver a fantastic energy, driving listeners to the end. With all of the metal flying out of this album, track 7, “Philosopher”, the title track, brings in acoustic guitars instead of electrified guitar sounds and the result is unbelievable, complete with the amazing drum work found in this album and bass filling it all in.

Need a nice change to your metal collection? This will give a wonderful element to your music. This is definitely a recommended recording.
