Supernaut Artist - Supernaut
Album - Livid Vol. 1
Label - In Music We Trust
Reviewer - Mr. Black
There isn't a music lover in the world that hasn't gone "holy sh@t" a time or two when they hear a new CD. Especially if it's a genre they don't normally listen to. Now adays, music is music. It's no longer a genre unless you're some exec on the 14th floor of a high-rise sipping latte's with a stack of $100 bills shoved up your ass.Enter Supernaut. A Portland-based 3-piece band that sounds as if they were a 5-piece. It's no surprise that after putting two and two together that with Portland-band veteran Scott Chapin in the band, Supernaut proves to be one of the best new audio digs in Oregon. Their previous projects such as The Daylights and Sweatty Nipples were solid and no doubt "kick ass"...but something is different about Supernaut. From the first track, "Losin' It", to the close-out track "Shot To Hell", Livid Vol. 1 is a 6-song "Vh1: Behind The Music" in the making. Dare anyone compares them to Nirvana but the hooks in each Supernaut song will resurface those Cobain-fits you used to get when listening to Nevermind. That was one genius-stained record and Supernaut's debut isn't too far behind the eight ball.
