Until The End Artist - Until The End
Album - The Blind Leading The Lost
Label - Eulogy Recordings (2004)
Reviewer - Marc Halverson
South Florida’s own hardcore kings Until The End, return with another straight ahead brutal release, “The Blind Leading The Lost”. This is their third studio release since they formed in January of 2000, “due to the necessity for a sXe band in South Florida with a modern twist,” (Eulogyrecordings.com). With new frontman James McHugh leading the way, this explosive quintet deliver a powerful and true hardcore record that fans of Hatebreed, Throwdown, Terror, Madball, and Bury Your Dead will be proud of.

Until The End does not waste any time tearing right into ‘This is our last chance’ which sets the tone for the record; that being a full-scale war from beginning to end. ‘Traitor’ is a strong track that has several breakdowns and a catchy chorus of chanting “Traitor.” The song closes with a Hatebreed like break down that will guarantee instant head banging when you hear it. ‘Total control’ and ‘Nothing matters, no one cares, so f*** off’, are two of the strongest tracks on the album. Both songs stick to the same formula of blistering guitars with solid bass lines, thunderous drumming, and throaty vocals that you would expect to hear from a drill instructor; followed by sick break downs that will become instant mosh anthems. Other strong tracks are ‘My own American dream’, ‘Cold blood: A miserable failure’ and ‘Nothing between us’.

Even though the direction and sound of this album is not reinventing the current wheel of hardcore, it is a strong offering that will appeal to fans of deep growls and ground breaking break downs. Until The End stick to their beliefs and convictions and remain 100% loyal and true to their straight edge following on this offering. Check out Until The End and prepare for a wake up call and eye opening experience.

Until The End is:
James McHugh – Vocals
Jason BadGuy – Drums
