Cinderella Cinderella - Rocked, Wired, and Bluesed…The Greatest Hits
By Robin Steeley

“And who’s to care if I grow my hair to the sky, I’ll take a wish and a prayer, cross my fingers, cause I’ll always get by”

Rocked, Wired, and Bluesed is a collection of the best ten videos for 80’s icon Cinderella. It coincides with the release of the same named greatest hits CD compilation. The first three videos, “Shake Me”, “Nobody’s Fool”, and “Somebody Save Me” are all from the bands debut album Night Songs and were all directed by Mark Rezyka and all share a similar theme, where Cinderella’s evil Step sisters follow the band to all its shows and studio appearances. The fairy tale concept that was maintained gives the videos an epic quality to them, needed in any good video for a power ballad.

The next set of videos have a very different feel to them and were directed by Nick Morris, including the video for “Gypsy Road”, “Don’t Know What You Got Til Its Gone”, and “The Last Mile”, all taken from the bands second studio album Long Cold Winter. Also from the same album is “Coming Home” directed by Marc Reshovsky and Chris Painter. I really like the story telling quality of this song and it was one of the highlight videos in this collection. It also includes “The More Things Change” from the album Heartbreak Station and two videos from the bands third release, “Shelter Me” and “Heartbreak Station” both directed by Jeff Stein.

The DVD also features a commentary section where band members Tom Keifer and Eric Brittingham talk about their experiences shooting the videos. They aren’t afraid to laugh at themselves wondering aloud how they ended up with those hair do’s. Also included is an edited version of the 1988 home video “Tales From Gypsy Road” which has interviews live footage from past performances, as well as a documentary for the making of the “Heartbreak Station” video.

Overall, this is a great addition to any collection of a Cinderella fan. It has enough bonus features to make it more then worth the price.
