Indie Label Rises out of California'a Central Valley Introducing Metal Brain Records From Modesto CA By Mike Vanek
When it comes to central valley music things are getting a little bigger these days. Different things are popping up making things more accusable to the public. One of the institutions helping things move along is Metal Brain Records. Conceived in May of 2002 and now planning their national debut, this Modesto CA based company is ready to begin operations and is on the move recruiting the best bands the Central Valley, Northern California, and the rest of the world have to offer! With two of the sickest Central Valley known as Sickle (Oakdale CA) & Seip (Riverbank CA) already signed to the company Metal Brain continues the search for top talent. Right now Metal Brain is negotiating with top Central Valley bands as well as a few top name national bands.
Metal Brain has been managing Seip for the last year and a half and the band has improved very much since joining forces with Metal Brain. Metal Brain’s roots began with the Modesto based band Epidemia. Epidemia managed by Schainsaw Metal Brain’s Founder & President was on the verge of several record deals and was the subject of major media coverage which led to Epidemia’s eventual break up. But Schainsaw is keeping Epidemia members involved with former Epidemia bassist Muerto joining the Metal Brain team in creative design and production. Epidemia’s former drummer Pelon is now in Metal Brain band Seip and that has generated interest towards the band. I asked Metal Brain’s founder & President “Schainsaw” what Metal Brain’s plans were for 2005. Schainsaw said “We plan on releasing 5 to 6 albums including a compilation while polishing the edges of each band as well as massive promotion in major publications and outlets.”
In order to lend support to the local music scene Metal Brain is also opening to the pubic a high tech recording studio and will offer several recording & Production packages to bands and groups so that their music can be recorded in a high tech state of the art studio at a fair price. Metal Brain is also presenting live shows at Modesto’s VFW Post 3199 aka “The Post” beginning on December 18th with Sickle, The Venting Machine, Thr3efold, & Seip. Metal Brain Records is dead set on success for their infant company with every component of the company supporting each other. Every time one of Metal Brain bands plays even their prospective bands The Metal Brain crew is always there in force slinging merchandise and showing their support for the local scene which is something missing in the Central Valley.
Speaking for those of us that live and are involved with local music here in the Central Valley I am excited to see an Independent Record label to spring up and show our local scene the support it is lacking. I have been watching this label operate over the last couple months and I bereave that some exciting things are about to happen with this label and I believe this is the label that will put the Central Valley on the map.
