Review By Robin Steeley
I got this book in the mail and I was amazed at how huge the volume is, in its entirety it’s over 580 pages and it must way several pounds. After reading it, I have found it to be the definitive answers that any music industry person needs to just about any legal question you could possibly come up with. My favorite section was the extensive coverage of legal contracts, knowledge that usually only comes from an expensive entertainment attorney. There are over 500 sample contract provisions listed and explained in plain English. This book has the potential to save you an incredible amount of money in legal fees. It is the bible of the music industry’s legal world.
Author Richard Schulenberg was the former director of business affairs for CBS records as well as music counsel for Paramount Pictures. He brings to the table his experience of more then three decades in the entertainment business.
This book is an invaluable tool to any musician or industry professional. It should be a desk reference to anyone considering signing a contract, record deal, or publishing agreement. This is 100% a valuable resource.
