This powerhouse metal act brings in styles of metal that are almost reminiscent. The wonderfully done classic sound is also introducing some subtle original characteristics in their sound. Admittedly there isn’t anything here that hasn’t already been done, but the fact that I am here listening to this kickin’ album, recently released, simple tells me that the hunger for this level of metal is strong and the Ben Jackson Group is here you stuff you full of sweet rock ‘n roll!
This East Coast band lays into some tight vocal harmonies as well and stellar harmonized guitar melodies and riffs. The drive is hard and solid, and the vocal style and tone is one I have always loved and is nice to hear come alive again! The intelligible lyrics are a great change and make this album come across much stronger! Members Rick Tabor on drums and backing vocals, Dano Binz on bass and backing vocals, Mark Borgmeyer on lead and rhythm guitars and backing vocals, Rose Sexton working her vocals singing harmony and backing vocal parts, and of course Ben Jackson pulling off the lead vocals, rhythm and lead guitars, acoustic guitar, and piano. This ensemble is definitely about big sound.
Even though I can’t hear a modern hit coming out of this album, they have definitely hit a large niche base of listeners with this fantastic album! Starting out with a track that is a solid wall of sound, and laying in the vocals, and the tight sound, Ben Jackson Group has captivated me! The flow of this album is great with 10-tracks to listen through; I hope you will find the value in this album is in the quality of the music and songwriting!
Ben Jackson has earned a definite spot in my player!
