Evergreen Terrace Artist - Evergreen Terrace
Album - Sincerity Is An Easy Disguise In This Business
Label - Eulogy Recordings
Reviewer - Marc Halverson
Evergreen Terrace return with “Sincerity Is An Easy Disguise In This Business” to prove to the hardcore scene that they are not going anywhere any time soon and will continue to deliver. With their melodic hardcore sound, Evergreen Terrace is not changing the face of hardcore but they have a taken a direction that seems to work and they are very sincere about what they do.

‘Dogfight’ opens with a slow instrumental and then breaks into a fast and catchy riff. Vocally, front man, Andrew Carey barks out in true hardcore fashion but then transitions into a melodic but smooth tone reminiscent of Matt Holt from Nothingface. ‘Give ‘Em The Sleeper’ is a fast paced punk driven song that transitions into a hardcore break down. ‘Brave Reality’ is another track along the same formula that remains present throughout the album. ‘New Friend Request’ is one of the strongest songs with a catchy chorus and great bass line that leads into a sick break down. ‘Gerald Did What’ is a short song with a Hatebreed like break down. ‘I Can See My House From Here’ is a solid song that has several tempo changes. Vocally, you can hear similarities of Chris Volz from Flaw. Other strong songs are ‘The Thunder’ and ‘Tonight Is The Night We Ride”. The album comes to a close with a slow acoustic track.

Evergreen Terrace deliver with their latest release and they seem to have found a formula that may be simple but works effectively for them in a scene where there are so many bands doing the same thing. Check out Evergreen Terrace and find out why they are sincere about what they do.

Evergreen Terrace is:
