Artist - In Flames
Album - Soundtrack to Your Escape
Label - Nuclear Blast Records

This is the seventh full-length effort from Sweden’s In Flames, and has been well worth the wait. It’s an excellent follow up to their last album and shows a huge progression in sound since albums like“Reroute to Remain”. It will delight old school In Flames fans and should spawn a whole new generation of listeners. The sound is similar to “Whoracle” and “The Jester Race” but incorporates the new experimentation the band has utilized recently such as more melody and some cleaner vocals thrown in. The songwriting is still classic In Flames and the musicianship is solid as ever.
Some of the highlight tracks off this offering are the memorable “The Quiet Place” and the groovier “Touch Of Red” which shows off some of the modern touches the band now incorporates. I also liked the faster “Superhero of the Computer Rage” and the slower burning “Evil In A Closet.
Overall, it is twelve tracks in length and nearly 47 minutes of pure listening pleasure. I’m thinking its going to push In Flames over the top in the North American music scene. You should definitely pick it up.
