Reedy & The Bluntz
By Home James

Ramones meet Sha-Na-Na?

Longtime pompadour-pimp-rockin’ Reedy & The Bluntz put on a great show start to finish.

Decked out in black shirts & black jeans and looking ‘Fonzie’ cool, Reedy & the Bluntz launched into a classic set of 50’s & 60’s rave-up rockers and ‘greaser-in-love’ ballads that sounded like a ‘best of’ compilation from your parents old record collection.

The band shines when the well-accomplished Reedy orchestrates and let’s his best players do their work. A great example of this is when (guitarist/vocalist/Ray Ramona look-a-like) Steve-O steps up to the mike and belts out some smooth, solid vocals with enough charm and subtle swagger to get the girls shaking.

A nice, tight band with a solid rhythm section provided by Freeway on drums and Andy on bass while Steve-O and Reedy provide great texture and feel.

The folks at the Arnada Café got a taste of some no-frills, quality, garage-riffs straight out of “Rock n’ Roll High School”.

Go check out Reedy & The Bluntz soon. You won’t be disappointed.
