You never know what to really expect from any live show these days, especially from power house bands much like Seether, who recently performed in Philadelphia at the electric factory along with Crossfade who is now a trio touring band and a new quintet band who call themselves Dark New day. as an added bonus in Philadelphia, Seether performed at the Hard Rock Cafe in down town Philly exclusively for 94WYSP. a radio station who has not only the best ratings, but has also been a long supporter of Seether from day one with their sophomore release Disclaimer which as reached gold platinum status with three sizzling radio friendly hits that have earned this Band quite a cult following in such a short period of time. Even before Seethers show at the Electric Factory, where more bands have graced the stage since 1995, They pulled out the acoustic guitars and performed seven songs behind close doors at the Hard Rock Cafe in front of two hundred loyal listeners that were eager to meet the band, have photos taken, and have personal autographs etched on CD covers. Even listening to Seether plugged in is a real treat but to watch these guys play several hits which they performed early in the afternoon on Sunday, August 28, 2005, which included acoustic renditions of " gasoline ", " fine again ", " remedy ", and " broken " which were a mere taste of what to expect of them setting the stage a blaze at the electric factory in Philadelphia pa.

Perhaps this could very well be the most amazing tour package to hit Philadelphia in 2005. A headling spot for Seether on their current Karama and Effect tour, yet a no holds bard type of band who call themselves Dark New Day who have a great line up, amazing musicians, and superb signature sound which create a one of a kind pure rock band fully loaded and packing a punch. Dark New Days live show is much of a high energy packed box of dynamite that exploded on impact when they walked onto the stage in Philadelphia, where they mentioned ... this is our first time in Philadelphia, so glad to be apart of this tour with Seether and Crossfade. Its hard to actually randomly select which portion of their set I enjoyed more of, the energy of the band jumping around, the backing vocals, or the amazing guitar works of Klint Lowery and Troy McLawhorn or could it just be the main factor that this outfit truly rocks even with a short set. at one portion of their set Dark New Day performed their latest track " brother " with a helping hand of Shaun Morgan of Seether on guitar in their closing set at the factory. Just to watch this band kick out some heavy rock was a delight of all ones ear candy senses especially if you like it heavy with pure balls in the vocals.

Next fans got a second helping of Crossfade as a CO-headliner with Seether on this tour, yet Crossfade is no stranger to Philly or the rest of America as they already have a platinum Debut with three sensational radio hits including " Cold ". Even if Crossfade has down sized from quartet to a power house trio currently on this tour, they seem to really work well on all aspects of their live show. still as a three piece Crossfade delivered the goods with an hour long set which included several tracks off their debut along with a portion of Dark New Days drummer banging out a track or two during their recent performance at electric factory.

As if the acoustic seven ultra rare performance wasn't enough to get philly fired up, Seethers first headlining blind spot set fans into a daze as this band not only created some signature rock anthems from Disclaimer, to the current ear candy of Karma and Effect in 2005. Seether is certainly doing quite well building a healthy live fan base in Philadelphia where their music can often be heard through out the bellows of WYSP. Their live seventy-five minute killing in the fields performance at the electric factory seem to be nothing but pure rock entertainment as they performed all their hits which included a cover from Deftones which featured Klint Lowery on guest guitar at one segment of their show. Hard to believe that three bands share such a passion for friendship and music on this tour, while Seether performed their set, behind them stood members of Crossfade and Dark New Day in support of their headliners show. Just watching Shaun Morgan banging his head around while hes working is magic on the guitar was truly a moment in time not to be missed. The sneaky bass lines of Dale keeping in fine tune and capturing each and every moment was superior to the naked eye of any fan, yet the big beats of johns drums and the amazing guitar magic of Philly boy Pat Calahan who worked the stage in tow with ever guitar lick at hand none to miss in watching him play.

At one point in the Seethers truly monumental live experience, Shaun paid homage to this fallen rock heroes which included Darrell " DimeBag " Abbott who will be sadly missed by all his piers in the true metal genre'. Rounding out the entire amazing showcase of Seethers live performance in Philadelphia, Seether paid homage to one of the most influential Grunge bands that sparked that area Alice In Chains to which they performed " Man In The Box " with Dark New Days front man Brett Hestla raising his fist in the air and working the crowd to what in my opinion is one of Alice In Chains most finest works from back in the day of their stint in the grunge genre'.

In addition to attending the acoustic set earlier in the day with Seether at the hard rock cafe sponsored by WYSP, The entire night was just amazing with all three bands sharing certain segments in each set performing with one another which is something you don't normally see atleast for the most part, yeah you have you everyday collaborations in the studio, but how often do you see other bands plug in and play with the headliner ... merely none.
