Sonic Flood is a Christian band I caught up at Mt.Hood Community College. They were putting on a free show, which was cool as well known as they are.104.1 The Fish was there to cover the scene.We (me, Mike, and the kids) were treated to some very Hootie and the Blowfish sounding stuff, and the large crowd was singing the words.Everyone in the stadium took communion together and we had some awesome family time.The band sounded great, excellent musicianship...two guitars and a bass, sometimes a third guitar from the lead vocalist, and very precise drums...these guys are very good looking too.The bassist, an Aussie, spoke after the show, and encouraged everyone to be less selfish and to try to do what they can for World Vision, a child sponsorship program that helps starving children worldwide.Overall the show went well.This band is every bit as good as Jars of Clay or Third Day....two other rock Christian bands to check out. Harder stuff would be Soil or Skillet.Both great bands as well.One other item of note,Bill Cushman was on the scene helping with loadout.Hiya Bill!
