CAPITOL RECORDS TO REISSUE JOHN LENNON'S "SOMETIME IN NEW YORK CITY" - Robin @ 9:00 am PST

AND "WALLS AND BRIDGES" ON NOVEMBER 22

LENNON CATALOGUE REISSUES FEATURE REMIXED
AND/OR REMASTERED TRACKS, BONUS CUTS

New York, NY) -- Following the release of the Working Class Hero - the Definitive Lennon retrospective 2CD earlier this month, Capitol Records will reissue two John Lennon catalogue solo albums on November 22.

Sometime in New York City and Walls and Bridges are the latest releases in a campaign of reissues featuring remixed and/or remastered tracks and bonus cuts. Sometime in New York City now appears as a single CD, condensed from the original double.

Sometime in New York City was originally released in 1972. Tackling a range of issues including feminism, black activism and unrest in Northern Ireland, the album reflected the fact that Lennon and Yoko Ono had settled in New York and were part of a radical, highly politicized arts scene centered around their Greenwich Village apartment. It also reflected John's newfound love for New York, a city he fondly called "a big Liverpool."

Sometime in New York City was recorded with the group Elephant's Memory, featured several Yoko compositions, and originally featured a bonus disc, "Live Jam," culled from two sources. The first was a December 1969 gig by the Plastic Ono Band at London's Lyceum. Billed as a "peace for Christmas" event, the night saw John and Yoko joined onstage by guests including George Harrison, Eric Clapton and Keith Moon.

The remaining tracks on the original double album were taken from a surprise appearance at Frank Zappa's Fillmore East show in June 1971. It's these tracks that Yoko Ono has decided to edit, making the new version of the album a concise single CD.

Says Yoko, "When John started singing 'Baby Please Don't Go' at the Fillmore East show it was his cry from the heart to the two heavily avant-garde artists - Frank Zappa and myself - with whom he was sharing a stage.

John started to sing a rock n' roll song with simple chords from his childhood, to which not much could be added musically by Zappa's great band. I did my vocalization to add a little twist, while Frank jammed on his guitar - but the main emotion of the piece was pure Liverpool. John sang beautifully.

I decided that the Fillmore performance should end here after this track, without going into the long avant-garde improvisation that followed, led by Frank and I. I wanted John to have the last voice on the album, spreading his childhood over us.

If you miss the 'freak out' part...just put a microphone to the many battlefields in the world. You will hear everything - children crying, guys shouting, and the occasional silence created by the dead."

For this new single CD, "Listen, The Snow is Falling" and "Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" have been added. "Happy Xmas" did not feature on the original album, although it preceded its release when it was released as a single, backed with "Listen, The Snow is Falling" in the U.S. in 1971 and in the U.K. a year later. "Happy Xmas" has gone on to become one of the most popular Christmas songs of all time and was the fulcrum around which John and Yoko built their highly visible billboard peace campaigns, which would dominate the most populated areas of major cities with the slogan "War is over! If you want it. Happy Christmas from John and Yoko". Yoko continues this idea to this day, often using billboards and newspaper ads to spread the peace message.

SOMETIME IN NEW YORK CITY TRACK LISTING:

LISTEN, THE SNOW IS FALLING
HAPPY XMAS (WAR IS OVER)

All tracks have been remixed except "John Sinclair" and "Attica State,"
which have been remastered.

Walls and Bridges was first released in 1974 and features contributions from Elton John, Klaus Voormann, Jesse Ed Davis, Jim Keltner and Nicky Hopkins. It gave John his first solo #1 hit single with "Whatever Gets You Thru The Night" and, perhaps because of the turmoil he was going through at the time, proved to be a great album overall. This new edition features three bonus tracks including a live version of "Whatever Gets You Through The Night" recorded live at Madison Square Garden on November 28, 1974.

This was the legendary show where Lennon made a surprise appearance with Elton, having lost a bet that the song would top the chart. Elton challenged that John should repay the favor by appearing onstage with him in a show that would go on to attain legendary status for two reasons - it led to the reconciliation of John and Yoko after John's 'lost weekend', and it would turn out to be the last time John ever appeared on a public stage.

Two further bonus tracks are "Nobody Loves You (When You're Down and Out)," a previously unreleased acoustic outtake, and an interview recorded in L.A. from the b-side of a special pressing of 'Whatever Gets You Thru The Night'.

Taste of Christmas In Stores November 1st!! - Robin @ 9:00 am PST

Compilation Features Original Songs And Newly Recorded Versions Of Holiday Classics

By Acts Such As The Used, Funeral For A Friend, Emery, Gatsbys American Dream & More!

Forget Bing Crosby this holiday season as the folks at WARCON Enterprises bring the songs of Christmas past into 2005 with the introduction of Taste of Christmas, an 18-track compilation that features such acts as The Used, Skindred, Funeral for a Friend, My American Heart, Emery and more.

Produced by WARCON founders Bob Chiappardi and Kevin Lyman, this "who's who" of the post-hardcore/screamo scene will be available November 1st and includes both original songs and newly recorded versions of holiday classics, including a special rendition of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas" by the Street Drum Corp and The Used's Bert McCracken.

A music video was recently shot with McCracken and Street Drum Corps for "Happy Christmas" that will be used as a visual Christmas card to the soldiers of every nation that are separated from their families during the holiday season. A message about the dream of a world at peace is portrayed in a moving testimonial directed by Bert McCracken and David Brodsky. Watch for the clip to appear on your favorite video outlets shortly.

Rounding out the compilation's stellar track listing (see below) are new songs by The Used, Opiate for the Masses, Bleed the Dream, From First To Last and more. Of the 18 songs, 17 were created especially for this project. A number of the songs were recorded by bands that performed on this past summer's Warped Tour. Artist/producer Jim Kaufman of Opiate for the Masses, volunteered his studio in the back of his tour bus and recorded the Skindred, My American Heart, Funeral For a Friend, Emery tracks as well as the Opiate for the Masses holiday song.

"We wanted to give today's generation its own seasonal soundtrack," says Bob Chiappardi. "The Taste of Christmas is the result of the collaboration among the artists, labels and every one here at WARCON to produce a record that would, from this year forth, become synonymous with the Christmas holiday. We had so much fun making this record, that we have already started planning to continue the project with Volume 2 for next year."

BONNIE RAITT ANNOUNCES EARLY 2006 - Robin @ 9:00 am PST

SOULS ALIKE TOUR DATES FOR U.S., U.K. AND EUROPE

November TV Appearances Include VH1 Classic "Decades Rock Live," "The Late Show With David Letterman," "CBS Sunday Morning" and "Breakfast with the Arts";

DIRECTV Special To Air Every Day In December

When nine-time Grammy winner Bonnie Raitt kicked off her Souls Alike tour in early October, she promised it would be a yearlong tour. But after a few weeks on the road, fans will be happy to hear she's already talking about taking it into the spring of 2007.

"Come back soon, Bonnie. OK?" said the Ann Arbor News in a review of her sold-out show at the Michigan Theater while Billboard called the night "a testament to her enduring creative vitality."

"Raitt's voice was rich and true as she and her wonderful band traversed a musical soundscape that spanned eras and styles," said the Syracuse Post-Standard. "The night started with 'Unnecessarily Mercenary,' written by Raitt's longtime keyboardist, Jon Cleary, as a rolling tribute to his hometown, New Orleans. Through the set, Raitt revisited her latest album, 'Souls Alike,' with thrilling results. 'God Was in the Water' and 'I Will Not Be Broken' showed that Raitt is still making music with plenty to say...The rest of the band, George Marinelli on guitar, James 'Hutch' Hutchinson on bass and Ricky Fataar on drums, contributed mightily to the new material and the handful of favorites Raitt used to roll back the clock."

"I Will Not Be Broken," the first single from Souls Alike, which debuted at #19 on the Billboard 200 in September, is currently in the Top 5 at the AAA radio format.

Those who haven't yet caught the current tour will have numerous opportunities to see Raitt perform on television in the months ahead. On November 18th, VH1 Classic will premiere a "Decades Rock Live" episode featuring Bonnie and her special guests Norah Jones, Ben Harper, Keb' Mo' and Alison Krauss. "CBS Sunday Morning" will air a segment on Raitt on November 20th featuring footage shot at her recent Boston, MA and Portland, ME shows. On November 27th, A&E's "Breakfast with the Arts" will conclude its two-part segment with Raitt and on November 29th she'll perform on "The Late Show With David Letterman." In addition, DIRECTV will broadcast an hour-long Bonnie Raitt concert special every day in December.

Raitt will be interviewed on NPR's "All Things Considered" this Friday, October 28th, and next Friday, November 4th, her performance on "The World Café with David Dye" will air. And on November 22nd, iTunes will release a seven-song digital "iTunes Originals" EP by Raitt featuring live in-studio recordings, an insightful interview, and much more.

Newly announced dates for 2006 are listed below, as well a recap of Raitt's remaining 2005 tour dates. Musictoday will run ticketing pre-sales for most of the North American dates, and premium seats and meet-and-greet passes will continue to be auctioned off for charity by Charityfolks.com. See www.bonnieraitt.com for further details, including specific on-sale dates.

My American Heart to Appear on MySpace Tour This Fall - Robin @ 9:00 am PST

Fresh Off the Warped Tour, MAH Performing Behind New Critically-Acclaimed Album “The Meaning In Makeup”

MySpace, the social networking phenomenon that has propelled up and coming bands to new heights, has rounded up five of its best acts for this fall’s MySpace tour which was kicked off October 26th in Dallas.

Featuring My American Heart, Greeley Estates, A Change of Pace, The Confession and Agent Sparks, the MySpace tour is already being hailed as the “it” show to see this fall.

My American Heart is one of the leading artists on the tour, having received critical acclaim for their debut album “The Meaning in Makeup” which was released earlier this year through WARCON Enterprises. Only 17 years of age, My American Heart may be the youngest act on the tour but they certainly aren’t the most inexperienced. Spending the year out with the Taste of Chaos and Warped Tours and releasing their debut album, which many are hailing as the “break-out record of the year”, MAH definitely has what it takes to soar to the top. In fact, Producer Sal Villanueva (Thursday, Taking Back Sunday) was so impressed with the band’s work ethic and experience that he says that “My American Heart is one of the most promising young talents that I have come across.”

In fact, the band’s album was so well-received by the media that the Dallas Music Guide wrote “Listening to this, you'll neglect the rest of your music collection for weeks. With The Meaning In Makeup, they've ensured themselves a bright future in this scene” and Alternative Press liked the album so much that they devoted a full page to the band in their September 2005 issue.
My American Heart is currently enjoying a regular rotation on MTV U for their first single “The Process”.

See for yourself what all the fuss is about this September as My American Heart and the rest of the MySpace Tour sweep the nation.

NYC (by way of Washington DC) supertrio MEASLES MUMPS RUBELLA - Robin @ 9:00 am PST
have just announced the details on their forthcoming debut full length, to be released on New York based label Doubling Cube (Robbers on High Street, Broadway Project, I Am The World Trade Center) on February 21st, 2006, and titled "Fantastic Success!"

Listen to a track off "Fantastic Success"
http://www.measlesmumpsrubella.com/audio/Fantastic_Success.mp3

"Like alien laser wars being fought in a wind tunnel as an android DJ creates a united front of disco, dub and punk." - Alternative Press Magazine

"If the Talking Heads was dance-punk’s Nelson Mandela, Measles Mumps Rubella is poised to become its Muhammad Ali." - The Village Voice

Just off an East Coast mini-tour w/ VCR and Rah Bras, Measles Mumps Rubella began playing together in a Washington DC basement in late 2000. By February 2001 the quartet played their debut show, to a packed room at local underground art gallery with fellow DC bands, All Scars and ABCs.

The band played a series of shows in the following months, and by August, Ian Mackaye had invited them to work with him and Don Zientara at Inner Ear Studio. The session produced two songs, “Zusammen Mit Motown” and “Lighters Out,” which became the group’s debut record released as a 7-inch single on their own Malady’s label in February 2002. The self-titled record was received with enthusiasm as the initial pressing sold out within the first month of release.

After spending sometime playing locally and touring with bands such as Bratmobile, the Rah Bras and Trans Am, MMR expanded their sound into longer pieces and produced the three song “Fountain of Youth” 12-inch/CD single that was released on Troubleman Unlimited.

2004 proved to be a landmark year for Measles Mumps Rubella. They went on several tours, on their own and with Le Tigre. The group relocated to New York, and parted ways with their original vocalist. Looking to continue forward, MMR quickly joined up with solo artist and long time friend Chuck Bettis who before moving to New York had fronted many DC bands such as The Metamatics, All Scars and Trance and the Arcade. Bettis immediately clicked with the group going on penning new vocals and touring within weeks of joining. Bettis’s fresh vocal approach has expanded the group’s sound as well as infusing a new energy in to the bands live performances.

MMR’s debut album, “Fantastic Success” is slated for release in late February 2006 through Doubling Cube Records. Recorded and mixed by Jonathan Kreinik (Apes, Hot Snakes, Trans Am) at Trans Am’s National Recording Studios, “Fantastic Success” nails down MMR’s unique sound and features the first recordings with Chuck Bettis on vocals.

“Where’s Black Ben?”
(5 Rue Christine)

SHORTIE BIO
Bam! Crash boom screeech! (Ting!) = Need New Body. Difficult to define and eccentric to experience. This band is a phenomenon for your senses. For the sake of your dancing shoes, for the love of explosive beats, and to remember why exactly is it you love music – Need New Body is an important outfit for this day and age of the musically redundant, mundane and regurgitated.

Dance M.F. Dance! Live is where it’s at! Need New Body is widely known for their stunning theatrical live show. They’ve been known for wearing elaborate costumes, using irregular instrumentation, and having an overall fiery and thoroughly entertaining performance. Hearing about it from your most descriptive friend, however explicit, will never suffice; Photographs alone cannot document what occurs during a live exhibition; Even a show videotaped would not bring you close enough to this experience. The only way to fully engulf yourself into the phenomenon is to be there yourself.

Bling! In this the last few months, NNB have beeen working on documenting their performances to compile into a live DVD, incorporating home recordings, and working on one-of-a-kind merchandise sold exclusively at their live shows. Recording all Fall & Winter 2004, to bring you their next record in the ’05. This Summer Need New Body, will bring it with their third full-length release on 5 RC (5 Rue Christine)! The party is just beginning…

BETWEEN THE BURIED AND ME ON TOUR WITH DILLINGER ESCAPE PLAN AND THE BRONX - Robin @ 9:00 am PST

NEW ALBUM, ALASKA, BASKS IN CRITICAL ACCLAIM,

VIDEO SPINS ON HEADBANGER’S BALL AND FUSE TV’S METAL ASYLUM

#1 ALBUM AT CMJ LOUD ROCK AND FMQB METAL DETECTOR

“If Queen were a death metal band, it would be Between the Buried and Me. And if "Bohemian Rhapsody" were a death metal album, it would be Alaska.” Stylus Magazine

“Their ludicrously snappy tempo changes now rub pointy shoulders with hummable choruses,

acoustic melancholy, space rock atmospherics, and eight minute long opuses.” Revolver

“…as incisive as it is elaborate…an unexpected, unpredictable treat…” KKKK Kerrang!

Between The Buried And Me are back to eschew any ideas of conventional thought and push themselves into never before seen artistic directions. Their latest masterpiece, Alaska, is a magnum opus showcasing the band’s hypnotic and elaborate guitar work, relentless rhythmic underlining, thought-provoking lyrics, and creative ingenuity. Not since releases like Refused’s The Shape Of Punk To Come and The Mars Volta’s De-Loused In The Comatorium has the music world seen such an envelope-pushing group of musicians. Between The Buried And Me have upped the ante for all musical releases to come.

Press and television tastemakers concur; Between The Buried And Me has seen feature coverage in Guitar World, Guitar One, Revolver, Decibel, Alternative Press, Bass Guitar, Chord, Brave Worlds and Bloody Knuckles, Kerrang!, AMP, and dozens of other magazines. The video for “Alaska” is spinning on Metal Asylum at Fuse TV and Headbangers Ball on MTV2 – the band were guests on Metal Asylum October 3rd.

Non-commercial radio has also embraced Between the Buried and Me, they are #1 on the CMJ Loud Rock Chart after 7 weeks, #1 on the FMQB Metal Detector and #1 FMQB Commercial Specialty Metal! “Alaska debuted on the Billboard Top 200 at #121 – an incredible feat for music this challenging and left of the mainstream.

FENIX TX

MAKE TRIUMPHANT RETURN WITH

‘PURPLE REIGN IN BLOOD – LIVE’

OUT NOVEMBER 8;

IN-PROGRESS U.S. TOUR CONCLUDES DECEMBER 4

October 25, 2005 -- Sometimes wishes do come true. For fans of Fenix TX who wished for reconciliation after the band’s sudden break-up in 2002, the dream will become reality on November 8 when the highly anticipated PURPLE REIGN IN BLOOD – LIVE album (with enhanced CD featuring a live video of “Katie W”) will be released on Adrenaline Music/New Planet Ventures (distributed by ADA).

The band launched an extensive tour in Cleveland on October 7 to bring the celebration directly to their anxious fans. The Drive Thru Records-sponsored trek—which also features Allister, Houston Calls, Day at the Fair and Denver Harbor--concludes December 4 in Chicago.

Recorded in Tempe, AZ on August 19 at The Club House, PURPLE REIGN IN BLOOD – LIVE presents the band performing their first show together in three years with all their popular staples (including “All My Fault” and “Phoebe Cates”) and covers of Peter Schilling’s classic ‘80s new wave hit “Major Tom (Coming Home)” and Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Fortunate Son.” The support that the Arizona music community has shown the band over the years made it a no-brainer for Fenix TX when choosing the spot to record the album.

In addition to traditional retail outlets, starting Wednesday, October 26, PURPLE REIGN IN BLOOD – LIVE will be sold at every stop along the tour route.

During their time together, Fenix TX--Willie Salazar (vocals), Damon Delapaz (drums), Adam Lewis (bass), and Chris Lewis (guitar)--released two albums on MCA Records, both of which performed exceptionally well without the help of a major radio hit. 2001’s LECHUZA sold over 150,000 copies and 1999’s self-titled debut sold over 225,000. Fenix TX supported these releases by touring internationally & domestically with bands such as Bad Religion, Blink-182, Less Than Jake, 311, and New Found Glory.

Even with all the success, 2002 wasn’t particularly a good year for Fenix TX or their fans. While on tour supporting LECHUZA, and in the midst of pre-production on their next release, the band announced onstage at a show in Portland, OR to a stunned crowd that they had decided to call it quits.

“The break-up was so sudden,” says frontman Willie Salazar, “We were caught up in our creative differences, we never got to say a proper goodbye to our fans, and I know that disappointed a lot of people, me included.”

He further explained in a recent interview with Rollingstone.com: “When you’re stuck in an RV, tour bus or van twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, eight weeks at a time, the only place you can go for solace is the iPod or CD player. Everybody was doing that for years. So when we went to record a new album, all the influences took our mind and music in different directions. Our differences provoked challenges, and our challenges provoked anger.”

After the split, the band pursued other musical projects. Salazar and Lewis formed Denver Harbor with former F.o.N. members Aaron Rubin and Ilan Rubin and released SCENIC in October 2004 on Universal Records. Wherever they toured, fans continually asked them to reunite Fenix TX. The persistence paid off.

In early 2005, Salazar received a phone call from Delapaz and that was enough to get the band going again. “We got together and realized that playing together makes us happy,” says Salazar, “We’re familiarizing ourselves with each other and remembering the old songs, and we discovered that we’re better musicians and the songs are tight.”

As a thank-you to fans, Fenix TX will be performing 20-minute acoustic sets at a number of in-stores along the tour route starting the week of release. Here’s the current schedule:

November 8/Tempe (Zia Thunderbird 4pm)
November 9/Tuscon (Zia Speedway 4pm)

SHELBY LYNNE MAKES HER ACTING DEBUT - Robin @ 8:59 am PST

Lynne Confirmed For CMT's "Country Outlaws" Special
And E!'s "Country Divas THS (True Hollywood Story)

Grammy winning recording artist Shelby Lynne will make her acting debut in the Fox Searchlight motion picture Walk the Line, which stars Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon and opens on November 18th. "'Walk the Line' is a strongly acted, musically vibrant, conventionally satisfying biopic of country/rock/blues legend Johnny Cash and his second wife, June Carter," said Variety, which reviewed the film at its Telluride Film Festival premiere.

Observed V Life: "That the Nashville ingénue-turned-rebel belle will make her film debut as a stalwart county matriarch, soaked in Aqua Net and aging from 35 to 67, isn't as far-fetched as it seems," noting that Lynne, who recorded "I Walk the Line" early in her career, penned the bittersweet "Johnny Met June" on the day Cash died. "Johnny Met June" is from Suit Yourself, Lynne's current album, which Blender called "...the best thing she's done since winning the Grammy."

"I knew about the movie through the grapevine," recalls Lynne, "and I said 'I'll read for any part, I'll read for Johnny, I'll read for June, I just want a part in this film because I think it's important. Johnny was important to all of us who love music and his story is so cool.' So I read for the part of Johnny's mother and I got it and I swear it's because of the accent, baby, 'cause you know I have no acting resume. But it was fun."

"I like anything outlaw," said Lynne in a recent interview. "You don't have to twist my arm on that." And so it should come as no surprise that she was the only female to perform at CMT's second annual "Country Outlaws" concert. The concert, which will premiere on CMT on November 4th, also features Merle Haggard, Toby Keith, David Allan Coe, Billy Joe Shaver and Jack Ingram. Lynne will also appear on E! Entertainment Channel's "Country Divas THS (True Hollywood Story), which looks at the careers of Shania Twain, Faith Hill and Dixie Chicks. "Country Divas THS" will premiere November 20th on E!

THE HAUNTED’s Fury of The Fall Recap - Robin @ 10:54 am PST

THE HAUNTED continue to annihilate everything that stands in their way on the Fury of The Fall tour and continues to garner new legions of rabid fans with their pummeling Swedish thrash metal assault and highly energetic live show. The Decibel magazine sponsored trek, which also includes Meshuggah, God Forbid and Mnemic wraps up next week.

Peter Dolving (vocals) checks in with the following tour report: “You know right now being a member of THE HAUNTED feels like being a part of something much greater than just a rock band. These last five shows really meant so much for us. I’ve been hurting like a motherfucker - seems like I busted my back and neck really bad somewhere along the way and for a while we talked about sending my broken Swedish ass home. We even talked to our friend Pat Lachman (ex-Halford and Damageplan) about filling in for me but with the help of painkillers, incredible massage therapeuts and plenty of ice I’ve been able to get up to do the shows. But the best support and inspiration are all of you - the people showing up. We want to thank you all so fucking much. You people are outstanding – singing along, screaming with me and just tearing shit up. That love and passion is what all this is about and together with our crew we want to shout out to all you, our friends and fans! Thank you for being real and staying sick as ever. This shit is beautiful; we love all you ugly bastards! See you out on the west coast. Over and Out!”

ON MTV 2 HEADBANGERS BALL OCTOBER 29TH !!!

As I Lay Dying, Director Lex Halaby (Killswitch Engage, Mudvayne) And MTV 2’s Headbangers Ball Bring “Through Struggle” To The Masses.

On September 18th in downtown Los Angeles at the Morell Meats Lot, an abandoned meat locker, “Through Struggle” the emotionally charged second single off As I Lay Dying’s record breaking album ‘Shadows Are Security’ was shot.

The strong imagery created during this shoot brings a new life to “Through Struggle”. Tim Lambesis elaborates "Spending a whole day in an old abandoned meat locker may not sound like a good time, but we really could not be happier with how well the video shoot went with Lex Halaby and his crew. The content came out way better than we could have expected, the imagery really captured the song, and we can't wait for you all to see it."

The video and song are tightly connected; bringing life to a concept that captures the strength of an intense and powerful song.

Through struggle will air on Headbangers Ball Saturday, October 29th. Tune In!!!

Steve Lukather Releases New Christmas Album - Robin @ 10:54 am PST

In Stores Now, “SantaMental” Features Lukather With Fellow World-Class Guitarists Eddie Van Halen, Slash, Steve Vai and More

This year, Christmas is going to have quite a different ring to it as legendary guitarist Steve Lukather rewrites the soundtrack to the holiday season with the introduction of “SantaMental,” a 10-track compilation featuring such guitar virtuosos as Eddie Van Halen, Slash and Steve Vai as well as appearances by Edgar Winter, Gregg Bissonette and Jeff Babko. Produced by Elliot Scheiner (The Eagles, Steely Dan, Sting) and Lukather, the album is in stores now courtesy of Favored Nations.

“SantaMental” was recorded in fewer than six days and features such iconic favorites as Jingle Bells, Winter Wonderland and Silent Night but according to Lukather the highlight is definitely his and Eddie Van Halen’s version of Joy to the World.

"When I wrote the arrangement with Jeff Babko, I wrote it specifically with Eddie Van Halen in mind, coming up with a 'Hot for Teacher' groove," he recalls. "So he came in and heard it and goes, 'What are you trying to do, kill me? I haven't played in a while' and we all laughed. I chucked everybody out of the studio, Eddie sat down, did a few takes and it was done. His playing is raw and on fire. He doesn't play on anybody's records so it was a real honor for me.”

Other notable tracks include A Broken Heart for Christmas featuring Slash, Carol of the Bells with Steve Vai and the CD’s bonus cut The Christmas Song (Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire) which brought the Grammy-Award winning duo Lukather and Larry Carlton back together for a special arrangement of this classic holiday favorite.

According to Lukather, the idea behind doing a Christmas record came from Multi-Grammy Award winning producers, Elliot Scheiner and Al Schmitt. "They pitched me the idea of doing this Christmas album. I would not have come up with that myself (laughs). I took it as a challenge to make corny Christmas songs hip, to re-voice them in some way to make them sound weird (laughs). My partner on the project was keyboardist, Jeff Babko. He had brilliant ideas in terms of arrangements."

One of music's most innovative and inventive guitarists, Steve Lukather is best known as a founding member of the internationally successful five-time Grammy Award winning rockers, Toto. Beyond his seminal work in Toto, Lukather is also renowned for his storied session work shredding the six-string for such artists as Paul McCartney, Jeff Beck, Miles Davis, Eric Clapton, Don Henley, Randy Newman, Cheap Trick and many more.

Lukather's innate versatility, meticulous chops and seamless stylistic mastery truly comes alive on “SantaMental”. Demonstrating a wacky artistic sensibility that befits the artist formerly known as Kris Kringle, the record provides a rockin' winter wonderland of beautifully interpreted songs powered by incendiary guitar firepower, forward-thinking experimentalism and impeccably crafted arrangements.

A truly unforgettable work of genius, “SantaMental” is likely to rewrite the soundtrack to many Christmas holidays to come.

The tracklisiting for “SantaMental” is as follows.

Joy to The World Lukather with Eddie Van Halen, Jeff Babko, Gregg Bissonette, John Pierce, Simon Phillips

Greensleeves Lukather with Jeff Babko, Gregg Bissonette, John “Sticky”Pierce, Lenny Castro, Edgar Winter

Jingle Bells Lukather with Babko, Gregg Bissonette, John “Sticky”Pierce, Lenny Castro, Greg Shelby, Walt Fowler

GOD FORBID’s Fury of The Fall Recap - Robin @ 10:54 am PST

GOD FORBID are currently in the midst of the highly-successful Decibel magazine sponsored Fury of The Fall tour with Meshuggah, The Haunted and Mnemic, which is the group’s first U.S. trek in support of their highly-acclaimed new conceptual opus IV: Constitution of Treason. The album entered the Billboard Top 200 chart at #119 in its first week of release and it’s the first time the group has ever appeared in the Top 200 charts. A video for the album’s blistering opening track, “The End of The World,” was just completed by acclaimed director Dave Brodsky (All That Remains, Fight Paris, The Red Chord). Look for it to make its Fuse and MTV2 debut early next month.

Doc Coyle (guitars, vocals) checks in with the following tour recap: “Hey everybody. Doc from GOD FORBID checking in from the road with about a week and a half left on the Fury of the Fall tour. Right now, we’re in Boise, Idaho enjoying our only one true day off. I have to say that the tour has been incredible so far, and everyone is having blast. Playing between Meshuggah and The Haunted every night has really made us bring the thunder. Meshuggah is probably being the heaviest band of all time, The Haunted delivers a thrash metal riff clinic and Mnemic kills it nightly with so much damn groove and energy. The fans have certainly gotten their money’s worth and have turned out in droves with several shows selling out.

“For a quick recap of the highlights of the tour, we kicked things off at an outdoor festival near Tampa, FL with a few friends in Hatebreed, Devildriver, Otep, and the mighty Motorhead headlining. This show ruled, and the after party was insanity. Thank the lord for open bars! I actually got to meet the mighty Lemmy who was cool as fuck and down to earth, which was pleasantly surprising. We than hightailed it for couple kick ass packed shows in Allentown and Philadelphia, PA which was start of the tour with the full line-up. Canada rocked as usual with a couple packed, energetic houses in Toronto and Montreal. In Toronto, John Mayer was actually playing the venue next door, and surprisingly he is pretty damn talented musician who, in a live setting, was reminiscent of Steve Ray Vaughn. In Montreal, we got to hang out at good ol’ Foufounes Electrique after the show and it was mayhem as usual. Much props to ladies night.

“Following Canada, were sellout shows in Virgina, New York, Cleveland and one of the best hometown shows we’ve played in New Jersey at the Starland Ballroom. We’re really lucky to have such an amazing local fan base, which always seems to be growing. It’s crazy to see so many people who have stayed loyal, although musically we’ve grown a lot over the years. It’s just really gratifying to see people grow with you. Props to our bros in Lamb of God who came out to the VA show, and showed some new demo LOG stuff, which will of course kill like everything else they do.

“We also got to see our friends in Hatebreed and Shadows Fall in the New England area, which was incredible because those bands tour so much you never expect to see them at shows hanging out. Collectively, they took over our bus and showed us some of the new “Crowbreed” project, which is fucking amazing. Can’t wait for that to drop and it’s some of the heaviest shit ever! There was also quite the party in Cleveland when the Blackest of the Black tour crossed paths with our tour, and we got to hang with some friends in Chimaira and Himsa. Finally, we got to meet the guys in Behemoth, whose music we love. It’s funny, because for being one of the most evil bands of all time, are really fun laidback guys. A bunch of metal dudes dancing in a club to pop and hip-hop is just scary.

“We than hit the Midwest where we had some great shows in Milwaukee at the Rave and at a very nice newer club called the Pearl Room in Mokena, IL. Darkest Hour and Norma Jean just so happened to be playing Milwaukee the same night, so we were fortunate enough to share a couple beers. After the Mokena show, our good friend Bruce “LAMONTE” from Yakuza (congrats to signing with Prosthetic) took us to a seedy metal bar called Exit where Dallas and I DJed for a couple hours. I need to become a DJ. Free drinks and the music I want to hear works for me. After that, we jetted to Louisville to do an off-day show with our fellow Jersey boys Dillinger Escape Plan. We hadn’t played Kentucky since early 2001. Although it was a new club, and still had glitches, the show was a lot of fun,and Dillinger kicked everyone’s face in. Goddamn their good! Unfortunately, the Detroit show was cancelled because of some bullshit with the promoter. We promise to come back and make it up. We than headed south to rock Texas and Oklahoma, which really have some of the most dedicated, fanatical fans ever. Great stuff indeed.

“So we’ve been having a shitload of fun on this tour, and we’re working on something in the U.S. for early 2006. In the meantime, we’re shooting a video for “To The Fallen Heros” early next month, doing a couple regional dates with Agents of Man and Cannae, and than heading to Europe with the Haunted and God Dethroned. See everyone soon.”

Produced by Jason Suecof (Trivium) and Eric Rachel (Atreyu, Dillinger Escape Plan), the album -- a socially and politically charged vision of a post-apocalyptic world -- further displays the incredible creativity and talent of one of the most highly-respected bands in metal today. A limited edition dual-disc version is also available, featuring, in addition to the album itself, The Act of Treason; an exclusive, making-of-the-album, behind-the-scenes documentary featuring band interviews and tons of in-studio footage that takes you from rehearsals to pre-production all the way to the mastering of IV: Constitution of Treason.

“With IV: Constitution of Treason, GOD FORBID continues to make some of the best, most guitar-smoked records of the metalcore revolution.”

-- Brave Words

“IV: Constitution of Treason is one of the best pure metal albums of the year.”

-- Decibel

"This is GOD FORBID’s most accomplished work to date. Tremendous stuff indeed."

-- Rock Sound UK

“IV: Constitution Of Treason is an epic, career-defining moment.”

-- Terrorizer

LUNATICA BRING FABLES & DREAMS TO LIFE - Robin @ 10:54 am PST

SUHR, Switzerland – Female-fronted symphonic metal band Lunatica is prepared to make its impact on America with the release of its album, “Fables & Dreams,” on Frontiers/Locomotive Records.

“We are really satisfied with ‘Fables & Dreams,’” said singer Andrea. “The first album, ‘Atlantis,’ that we recorded in 2001 was not satisfying us at all. We still like the songs but the quality of the production is quite poor compared to what you can hear on the new album. On ‘Fables & Dreams’ we wanted to have a more professional approach. The songs are more worked out and we had more time for the recording.”

To help achieve this, producer Sascha Paeth (Rhapsody, Kamelot, Angra) was brought in. “It was the first time that we did the recording in a professional studio,” said Andrea. “Sascha and the other guys from Gate Studio gave us some good advice concerning the way of recording, and he had also good ideas for the production. We trusted him absolutely and just let him work and I think he brought the best out of our songs.”

The seeds of the Swiss band were planted in 1998 by Alex (keyboards) and Sandro (guitar). Lunatica combines catchy melodic metal with the beautifully sung lyrics of vocalist Andrea, who joined the band in 2001.

“I sing in a ‘normal’ way,” Andrea said. “This means not in the opera style, more like pop songs. Nevertheless, my voice is strong enough to be heard through the heavy guitar sound. That’s important for the live concerts.”

Upon its release in Switzerland, “Fables & Dreams” climbed directly number 13 on the Swiss Internet charts. Several months later, “Fables & Dreams” remained in the top 100 of the Swiss selling charts.

“It was a big surprise but also a big pleasure for us,” said Andrea. “We have a huge support by the fans and a good distributor in Switzerland. They did a lot of promo and we did also get some radio airplay although this style of music is normally not that much supported by radio stations in Switzerland.”

THE BILLBOARD BOOK OF TOP 40 R&B and HIP-HOP HITS - Robin @ 10:53 am PST

by Joel Whitburn

This is the complete chart information about the most popular R&B and Hip-Hop songs and artists from 1942-2004.

From the days of Louis Jordan and Bullmoose Jackson and His Buffalo Bearcats, swing, and World War II, Billboard began keeping tabs on the best-sellers in record stores in New York City's Harlem. That Harlem Hit Parade chart of 1942, the starting point of this book, was Billboard's first accounting of the growing interest in the music that would come to be known as R&B, Rhythm and Blues.

Today, Billboard Books is proud to present the first edition of THE BILLBOARD BOOK OF TOP 40 R&B and HIP-HOP HITS, packed with complete, authoritative chart information on the most popular songs and artists, including everyone from the Nat "King" Cole Trio, the Ink Spots, and Ray Charles to Mary J. Blige, Jay-Z, and Usher.

All the biggest-selling and most-played hits since 1942 are listed both by artists and by song title for quick reference. Every artist entry features biographical information on the artist or group, followed by the date for each hit, its highest position and number of weeks on the chart, and its original label name and catalog number. Lists of record holders, including the all-time Top 100 #1 Hits, the Top 25 #1 Hits 1942-2004, the Top 100 Artists by Decade, Top 40 Artist Achievements, #1 Singles Listed Chronologically 1942-2004, and 200 photos, round out this treasure trove of Top 40 trivia.

You'll learn the answers to such fascinating questions as:

- What two artists can commonly be referred to as the "King" and "queen" of Soul music?

-What popular male singer logged an incredible 17 weeks at #1 in 2004?

-What 1940s bandleader holds the record for the most all-time weeks at #1?

-Which NBA superstar rapped his way to a Top 40 hit in 1993?

-What female artist scored six straight #1 hits from 1987-90?

-What male rapper did Beyonce, Mariah Carey, and R. Kelly feature on #1 hits?

-Ten years before he won the Oscar fro Best Actor, what artist put "Infatuation" into the top 40?

-What funk group tallied five #1s from 1973-76?

-What future Country music superstar hit the R&B charts with "Never Had It So Good" in 1965?

-Which popular rapper had most of his chart success after he was shot to death in 1997?

TRIVIUM TO TOUR WITH - Robin @ 10:53 am PST
TRIVIUM TO TOUR WITH
CHILDREN OF BODOM
ROADRUNNER RECORDS DEBUT ALBUM ASCENDANCY CONTINUES TO WIN FANS & CRITICS ALIKE

Decibel Magazine’s newest cover stars TRIVIUM (on stands November 4th), will be direct support to Children of Bodom on their upcoming North American tour that also features Amon Amarth. Beginning November 9th in Quebec City, Quebec and running through December 14th in New York City, the tour will traverse the United States playing venues including the House of Blues in Chicago, Slim’s in San Francisco, the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C. and Irving Plaza in New York City. “This tour is going to be amazing,” exclaims Trivium’s 19 year-old precocious frontman Matt Heafy. “We’re huge fans of Children of Bodom and if the crowds have been reacting anything like we’re used to from the UK and Europe then it’s going to be a knockdown, drag out good time.” Trivium, rounded out with Corey Beaulieu (guitar), Travis Smith (drums) and Paolo Gregoletto (bass), is touring in support of Ascendancy, their debut album from Roadrunner Records that has been called “one of the best” by The New York Times and “a thundering, focused and remarkably polished take on modern metal" by Alternative Press Magazine who also said the band was one of the 100 bands you need to know. Additionally the album is set to be named the #6 best album of the year by Decibel Magazine in their January issue (on stands December 6th). The band is currently en route to Japan with Arch Enemy for their first ever tour of the Far East. They just wrapped up a sold-out headlining run of the UK that had them playing 2500 seaters across the country.

A true touring band, Trivium, who have been called “the most explosive band on the planet” in their Kerrang cover story and a “metal powerhouse,” by Revolver, have been earning fans in droves as they continue to support Ascendancy. Starting several months before the album's March 15th release, the band has toured with Mudvayne, Shadows Fall, Danzig, In Flames, God Forbid, It Dies Today, All That Remains, The Dillinger Escape Plan and labelmates Machine Head, Chimaira, 3 Inches of Blood, Still Remains, The Agony Scene and more. Additionally the band was on this years’ Ozzfest. “The fan reaction has been overwhelming,” say guitarist Corey Beaulieu. “Kids forming circle pits, crowd surfing, getting bloody and singing all the words- we live for that kind of stuff.” And that fan reaction has contributed to a significant increase in sales, with scans for Ascendancy increasing by 97% while on Ozzfest and a 39% spike in sales in the past three weeks alone.

Featuring complex songwriting, virtuosic guitar work from both Heafy and Beaulieu, that had Guitar One Magazine putting them in the elite list of their top 8 great new guitar heroes, the bombastic double-bass drum attack of Smith and thundering low end precision of Gregoletto, Trivium is a force to be reckoned with. Their album Ascendancy, is as technical as quantum physics, as ferocious as a pit-bull and as catchy as a spider-web drenched in syrup and has sold over 80,000 copies since its release this year, in the U.S. Led by the first single “Pull Harder On The Strings Of Your Martyr," the album soared to #1 on the Metal Radio Charts where it stayed for over five weeks. The video for the track, including videos for “A Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation” and “Like Light to the Flies” have all received extensive airplay on both MTV2 and FUSE. Additionally the band has embraced the video game world, licensing their music for several games including the newest version of The Sims and Infected, which also features music from Roadrunner artists Slipknot, Ill Nino and Chimaira.

Recently, Heafy has had the opportunity to show the depth and skill of his songwriting when he was chosen to be one of the captains for the recently released RR United album, The All-Star Sessions. Picked alongside three other notable songwriters; Joey Jordison (Slipknot), Dino Cazares (ex-Fear Factory/Brujeria) and Robert Flynn (Machine Head) Heafy wrote four songs that appear on the groundbreaking album. Each song completely different from the next, Heafy penned a classic metal song with King Diamond singing on it, a stoner rock track with Jesse Leach (ex- Killswitch Engage) lending his vocals, a black-metal tune that features the vocal talents of Dani Filth (Cradle of Filth) and a punk rock anthem with former Misfits singer Michale Graves on vocals. Not just a songwriter for the album, Heafy sang lead vocals on the first single from the album, “The End,” a song written by Cazares.

Proving Hit Parader Magazine right, Orlando, Fl’s Trivium IS “the valedictorian of the 2005 metal class.” With passion, dedication and talent, these hardworking young men, whose ages range from 19 – 23, are poised for “world domination” (Decibel Magazine).

The Chicago South Side’s The Tossers - Robin @ 10:53 am PST
The Chicago South Side’s The Tossers Play Game One of the World Series! New Album, The Valley of the Shadow of Death, In Stores Now

Chicago’s South Side heroes and Irish Rock staples The Tossers are providing the perfect stroke of luck for the Chicago White Sox as they embark on their journey to become World Series champions. The Tossers are providing the pre-game entertainment on Saturday, October 22nd from 4:15 to 7:15pm at Gate Three of U.S. Cellular Field. The Tossers’ raucous blend of traditional Irish instrumentation and furious Celtic melodies guarantees a home run with White Sox fans, while dousing Houstonites with a warm Chicago-style welcome. “I am honored to be a part of this great day for my beloved White Sox,” laughed singer Tony Duggins.

The past few months have been a whirlwind of activity for The Tossers, since signing to Chicago label Victory Records on St. Patrick’s Day 2005. Their fifth album, The Valley of the Shadow of Death was released to great critical acclaim on October 4th, 2005, and The Tossers are currently on tour across the U.S. to promote the album. The Chicago Tribune raved, “…the music itself continues to keep a facet of the band's cultural heritage alive and kicking…the album also captures moments of striking beauty and the feeling of crashing back to reality after a night of boozy revelry.”

The Tossers hail from the predominantly Irish Catholic neighborhood of Beverly on Chicago’s South Side. They formed over 12 years ago and began making a name for themselves throughout the pubs and taverns of the South Side. Eventually their name got out, and they began to open for legends like Shane McGowan and Stiff Little Fingers. The Tossers’ now legendary live shows attract fans of all ages and from all walks of life – drenched in Guinness and Jameson, the dancing crowd are always one step from a riot. The Tossers are sure to hit one out of the park on Saturday as they open this legendary World Series the only way it should be - with true Chicago pride and class.

The Tossers perform pre-game at the World Series at Gate Three of U.S. Cellular Field on October 22nd, 2005 from 4:15 to 7:15pm. The Valley of the Shadow of Death is in stores now, and The Tossers are currently on tour with Murphy’s Law. www.thetossers.com or www.victoryrecords.com.

DRAGONFORCE RELEASE INHUMAN RAMPAGE - Robin @ 10:53 am PST

January 9th Through Sanctuary/Noise

Following a hugely successful Summer and Autumn, during which the 18 month campaign in support of their Sonic Firestorm album has seen them wowing festival crowds around Europe before returning to the UK to play yet another sell out tour, London based metallists DRAGONFORCE have just completed work on their eagerly anticipated third album.

Inhuman Rampage contains eight brand new songs and will be released on January 9th, 2006 on Sanctuary’s Noise Records label. The album recording sessions were made at Thin Ice Studios in Virginia Water (Surrey) and guitarist Herman Li’s own studio in West London between April and September, while production duties were shared between Li, fellow axeman Sam Totman and keyboard player Vadim Pruzhanov.

When asked to comment on the new album, Li stated:

“On the new album we have come up with the ultimate formula that has never been done before. Combining intensity, chaos and melody, with all the DragonForce trademarks plus some more. For us, this is the next evolution in DragonForce’s sound. I have never heard an album sounding like ‘Inhuman Rampage’....the title says it all! It’s seriously gonna blow some heads off around the world next year.”

The full tracklisting of Inhuman Rampage is as follows:-

1 Through The Fire And Flames

2 Revolution Deathsquad

3 Storming The Burning Fields

4 Operation Ground And Pound

5 Body Breakdown

6 Cry For Eternity

7 The Flame Of Youth

8 Trail Of Broken Hearts

The album will be released on CD and picture vinyl, with the CD featuring an enhanced section and other surprise goodies....

Dragonforce will be performing live in the United States for the first time ever at the legendary CBGB’s in New york City on November 22nd.

Li said, “It is with great excitement, and it's a great honor, for DragonForce to play at such a legendary venue as CBGB's for our debut US show. I have no doubt that this show will one day be part of the many historic rock shows which have happened during the venue’s lifetime and we hope CBGB's will never stop rocking! We can’t wait to play for our loyal fans in the US who have been waiting for years for us to come to America!“

Children Of Bodom, Keeping Their Name, - Robin @ 10:52 am PST
In The News, This Week’s MySpace Featured Artist!!! New Video For “IN YOUR FACE” Premiering On MTV 2’s Headbangers Ball!!!

Children Of Bodom have spent their career defending the controversy caused by their name. The Group’s moniker refers to the gruesome triple homicide that occurred at Lake Bodom in Espoo, Finland in 1960. Just this month the case was closed when sole survivor the massacre Nils Gustafsson charged with the horrific murders was found not guilty. Henkka Blacksmith COB bassist exclaims, "The further the trial went on, the more it seemed that it’s not possible to judge him. The prosecution side's evidence was too weak. The biggest surprise was the fact that he was even prosecuted in the first place. Most of the people wouldn’t’ have guessed that kind of thing to happen in this matter. Now he is free, and innocent as he has always been (my trust towards our law institution is strong) and nothing has changed in the mystery of Lake Bodom. So we can go on and we don’t have to change our name, like many people suggested to do if the case would have been solved!!!"

Children Of Bodom On MTV 2’S Headbangers Ball. “IN YOUR FACE” the new music video from COB’s upcoming USA release will be premiering on Headbangers Ball, Saturday October 22nd, ten pm eastern standard time.

For more fan interaction with Children of Bodom the band has teamed up with MySpace, the extremely popular interactive online community. MySpace is highlighting Finish metal powerhouse Children Of Bodom as a featured artist of the week. Children Of Bodom has launched their own individual MySpace page (www.myspace.com/officialchildrenofbodom. This online hub allows COB to actively communicate with fans, and make new ones there are 31 million+ current users on MySpace. Children of Bodom now has a new way of interacting with the metal masses via blogs, message boards and bulletins where they can alert “friends” about their upcoming events and breaking news, as well as post concert dates and downloadable music. Along with The new page Children Of Bodom will also be featured as Myspace’s artist of the week on the music page (http://music.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=music&Mytoken=11BA5EC5-1373-D2C3-3C1912EC312C96B379651984) from October twenty-fourth to October thirtieth.

BEHEMOTH Report From The Blackest of The Black Tour; - Robin @ 10:52 am PST
BEHEMOTH Report From The Blackest of The Black Tour;

New Video Makes Its Metal Asylum Debut

Polish extreme metal titans BEHEMOTH have invaded North America once again on the highly-acclaimed Blackest of the Black tour, that is composed of an all-star cast that includes Danzig, Chimaira, Himsa, Mortiis and The Agony Scene. This is the group’s third U.S. tour in support of their most recent, critically-acclaimed record, Demigod. Their stunning 30 minute blistering set has been the talk of the tour and they are clearly positioning themselves as one of the genre’s elite. BEHEMOTH will immediately embark on a lengthy Canadian headlining tour following this massive U.S. trek. Their remaining 2005 touring itinerary is below.

BEHEMOTH also just completed a stunning new video for the track “Slaves Shall Serve,” which is definitely going to catch people’s attention with its intense and controversial imagery. Look for now on Fuse’s Metal Asylum and on MTV2’s Headbangers Ball early next month.

Nergal (vocals, guitars) checks in with the following report from the road: “This tour has been great success for us. Every night we play in front of 1000-2000 people, which is nothing but awesome! Being the most extreme band on the bill makes it really challenging, but all I can say after doing 17 shows is that we definitely managed to conquer most of those crowds.

“San Francisco was one of this tour’s highlights for us. Surprisingly, every show there gets better and better each time around. Cleveland was also the best show we’ve played in that city so far and I’m happy we finally made it up for those who missed us on King Diamond tour there. I can’t forget to mention the party with Meshuggah, God Forbid and our label mates that night, which went on few blocks from the venue. It was wild, I can assure you! My body is still suffering from that night. Jaxx in Virgina was probably the best off-date on this tour. It looks like we have a great following there. Respect to all those crazy freaks that made this night so memorable! Montreal was nothing but amazing. I could go on forever with complements on how great the Canadian crowds are and I really mean it. NYC was also a killer show too despite the fact that my amp went dead during the set.

“We are in Providence now and before the show Orion, Malta and I took a walk downtown convincing us that this is one of the most charming places I’ve visited in this country. I ended up buying some Iggy Pop, Hank Williams III and new Depeche Mode CD’s in the local record store while Orion got himself a sweet ILSA 3 DVD box set. The concert itself was fun. Those who showed up know what I mean. It was cool watching the surprised look on everyone’s faces when we entered the stage. It looked like they got the shit scared out of them, but by the end of the show we made them move and go crazy. That has been the whole point of this tour. Fuck yeah.”

“BEHEMOTH have taken the next step in their constant evolution with Demigod, the strongest record of their career.”

-- Decibel

“Demigod is a multi-faceted, top notch release that effectively combines brutality and intelligence.”

-- Outburn

MUSIC VIDEO DISTRIBUTORS TO RELEASE TWO NEW DVD TITLES - Robin @ 10:52 am PST

PHIL UPCHURCH - IN CONCERT: OHNE FILTER

ROY AYERS - IN CONCERT: OHNE FILTER

Oaks, PA - Music Video Distributors and Inakustik are pleased to announce the home viewing release of two new DVD titles for US distribution on DVD. The series will be released on December 6, 2005 (prebook cutoff November 1) and each DVD will boast a $19.95 retail price.

PHIL UPCHURCH - IN CONCERT: OHNE FILTER

This 8-song Phil Upchurch concert was recorded on October 28, 1992 at the Ohne Filter studios in Baden-Baden, Germany. This performance is unbashedly elegant and smooth, and his laid-back melodic lines and rhythmical grooves give his songs a tantalizing, almost erotic, touch. Upchurch has been a session musician for blues legends such as Muddy Waters, John Lee Hooker, Howlin' Wolf, and B.B. King, and Jazz icons like Duke Ellington, Stan Getz, and Quincy Jones recruited him to their bands. This DVD is proof of his magnificent guitar mastery.

ROY AYERS - IN CONCERT: OHNE FILTER

This 9-song Roy Ayers concert was recorded on November 15, 1994 at the Ohne Filter studios in Baden-Baden, Germany. His performance effortlessly combines hot rhythm and blues, cool jazz, popular dance grooves, intricate improvisations, Afro roots and urban US sounds. He was part of the New York Jazz community in the sixties and many years later he now finds himself name-checked and sampled by young protagonists of Hip Hop and Acid Jazz. Roy Ayers is a genuine music guru who has been honored by his colleagues and music connoisseurs with titles such as the “King of Neo-Soul” and the “Godfather of Groove”. This DVD is proof that he is perhaps the greatest vibraphonist of all time.

October 19, 2005 -- Thanks to the enormous success of their hit single, “Ugly,” SEVENDUST’s newly-released fifth album, NEXT (WineDark/7Bros Records, distributed by Fontana Distribution, a division of Universal Music and Video Distribution), has debuted on Billboard’s “Top 200 Albums” chart at #20 and SoundScan’s “Hard Music” chart at #4, selling 41,103 its first week out.

The album also debuted at #1 on the Music Monitor Network “Top 200 Albums” chart, which is compiled from sales at these retail outlets: Bull Moose Music, Cats Music/Pop Tunes/Monster/Sonic, Dimple Records, Gallery of Sound, Graywhale CD Exchange, Independent Records & Video, Rasputin Music, The Record Exchange, Scotti's Record Shop, and Zia Record Exchange.

“Ugly,” the album’s first single, has been exploding at Rock radio since its release August 9. It’s currently bulleted on the following charts: #19 on R&R’s “Active Rock”; #24 on Billboard’s “Active Rock Tracks”; and #24 on Billboard’s “Mainstream Rock Tracks.” The P.R. Brown-directed video for “Ugly” can be seen now on Launch.com and is currently being serviced to TV outlets nationwide.

Early sales success is also due in large part to the band’s exhaustive promo tour schedule. The band--Lajon Witherspoon (vocals), John Connolly (guitar), Vince Hornsby (bass), Morgan Rose (drums), Sonny Mayo (guitar)--has been criss-crossing the U.S. for the past few weeks meeting with fans, appearing at listening parties at retail outlets, and participating in a variety of radio station-sponsored charity events. They’ve been playing poker, paintball and softball, bowling, and riding motorcycles, lending their support to various charities including the American Red Cross’ Hurricane Katrina relief fund. To date they’ve helped raise over $10,000.

Monday, October 24 will be an extremely busy day for the band as they’re set to make two national radio appearances. That morning they’ll appear live on “The Mancow Show” from the program’s Chicago studio starting at 9:00am CT. They’ll be performing three songs from NEXT and answering questions from host Mancow. Fans should check www.mancow.com for station info. Later that evening, SEVENDUST will be the featured guests on “Rockline,” starting at 8:30pm PT/11:30pm ET. Fans are encouraged to call in with questions during the program at (800) 344-ROCK (7625). A complete list of participating stations can be found at www.rocklineradio.com.

Meanwhile, “Pieces” from NEXT will be heard in the forthcoming movie “Saw II” and on the soundtrack album along with songs by Marilyn Manson, Queens of the Stone Age, Mudvayne and more. The album hits stores October 25.

In touring news, SEVENDUST will be heading out with Mudvayne, 10 Years and Bobaflex as part of “The Masters of Horror Tour” starting November 18th at the Val Air Ballroom in Des Moines. Confirmed stops include New York, Chicago, Miami, with more to be announced in the coming weeks. Before the tour commences, they’ll perform on October 22 in Kansas City at the Kansas City International Speedway as part of Slipknot’s current trek. They’re also confirmed to headline the House of Blues in Orlando, FL on New Year’s Eve.

For SEVENDUST, the upcoming tour dates can’t come soon enough. “Our number one priority right now is to bring the most massive show possible that we can bring to the people who come to see us,” declares guitarist John Connolly. “It’s going to be brutal. There’s not a moment’s break. The live show will definitely be the most intense show we’ve have ever seen. So be ready. Be ready for sure.”

As drummer Morgan Rose continues, “It’s God awful to deal with as a band member. It’s gut-wrenching. It’s the heaviest set that I could ever imagine us doing.” And singer Lajon Witherspoon concludes, “I think what we’re doing on this next show is bringing it to a different level. Something we’ve never done before and I hope everyone likes it, but ultimately it’s all about the music and that’s what I’m really excited about.”

A veteran of the hard music world since Trouble’s inception in 1977, Wartell is a man who knows what he’s doing and with the singular goal of making solid hard rock music, he has succeeded with Wet Animal. The three-piece also consists of West Virginian singer/guitarist Shane Pasqualla, drummer Jeff “Oly” Olson, and bassist Michael “Vito” Diprima. Having worked together since 2003, the quartet has created a very impressive eponymous hard rock album and their initial live performances in Chicago have attracted attendance from members of Metallica, Smashing Pumpkins and Corrosion of Conformity. Full of heavy grooves, tight hooks and exceptional musicianship, Wet Animal’s debut is an impressive one.
